Bata India Q2 Results: Profit rises 30% at Rs 18 crore, revenue rises to Rs 862 croreAgencies

It had posted a net profit of Rs 13.89 crore in the July-September period a year ago, according to a regulatory filing from Bata India.

The revenue was up 7.5 per cent "despite the festive calendar largely deferring to Q3 this year". Profit after tax for the quarter had "a growth of over 31 per cent, supported by higher ASP", the company said in its earnings statement.

Its total expenses in the September quarter stood at Rs 855.14 crore, up 7.53 per cent YoY.

Bata India's total income, which includes other income, soared 6.9 per cent to Rs 879.83 crore in the second quarter of FY27.

In the first half (H1) of FY27, Bata India's total consolidated income stood at Rs 1,876.81 crore, up 5.34 per cent.

Commenting on the results, Bata India's Managing Director and CEO Sanjay S Rao said, "On a quarterly basis, the growth momentum continued for the fourth consecutive quarter, with a topline growth of over 7.5 per cent in Q2 FY27, robust LFL & ASP growth in Retail, and double-digit growth in Franchise and I&D channels."

Bata India currently operates a retail network of over 2,000 stores, including franchise outlets. It also operates more than 3,800 Key Retail Outlets (KROs). The company is optimising its distribution network to improve store productivity and drive customer footfall, he said.

Despite higher input costs and wage revisions, the company reported its highest-ever full-price sales, supported by fresh merchandise offerings and prudent sourcing, which also helped reduce markdowns.

"We remain focused on profitable growth through premiumisation, network expansion, sharper assortment, volume growth, consumer engagement, operational excellence and disciplined capital allocation. With festive business shifting to Q3, we expect the growth momentum to continue," he added.

Shares of Bata India Ltd on Tuesday settled at Rs 649.95 apiece, up 1.81 per cent, on the BSE.
