BSE begins hunt for MD & CEO successor ahead of 2027 exit
The current chief, Sundararaman Ramamurthy, 64, is set to retire in June, 2027, after attaining the regulatory age limit of 65 years.
The exchange has invited applications for the top job, seeking candidates with at least 20 years of experience, including five years in senior leadership roles. Applicants must be younger than 62 years as of July 1, 2027, according to the exchange advertisement.
The move formally kicks off leadership succession planning at BSE, as the chief executive of a stock exchange, under current Sebi regulations, can be appointed for a maximum of two terms of up to five years each, and must be below the age of 65 years.
BSE has also specified that the successful candidate must meet all eligibility requirements under the Companies Act and Sebi regulations and obtain the necessary regulatory clearances.
