It had posted a net profit of Rs 327.51 crore in the July-September quarter a year ago, according to a regulatory filing from the oral hygiene product maker Colgate-Palmolive India Ltd (CPIL).

CPIL's sales were up 12.22 per cent to Rs 1,691.57 crore in the September quarter of FY27 from Rs 1,507.24 crore a year ago.

Total expenses of CPIL in the second quarter of the current fiscal year were up 16 per cent to Rs 1,267.28 crore.

CPIL's total income, including other income, was Rs 1,727.50 crore, up 12.57 per cent in the September quarter.

In the first half (H1) of FY27, CPIL's total income was at Rs 3,353.60 crore, up 12.3 per cent.

Commenting on the results, MD & CEO Manish Anandani said this is the second consecutive quarter, in which CPIL double-digit topline growth, which reflects broad-based growth momentum across its brands and distribution channels.

"The toothpaste portfolio delivered high-single digit volume expansion, led by our premium toothpaste range and strong performance in Colgate MaxFresh," he said.

Moreover, CPIL gross margin expanded 40 bps year-on-year to 69.6 per cent in Q2, driven by a consistent focus on the Funding the Growth program, he added.

"We remain committed to navigating commodity cost fluctuations through disciplined cost savings and calibrated pricing actions," Anandani said, adding that CPIL further stepped up investments in brand building & premiumisation throughout the quarter.

Moreover, CPIL's board in its meeting held on Thursday declared a first interim dividend of Rs 24 per equity share of face value of Re 1 each for 2026-27.

Over the outlook, he said, "We expect to deliver robust growth, anchored by a best-in-class science-backed product portfolio tailored across consumer benefits and reinforced by strategic advertising investments."
